Nebraska County Court Judge Darryl R. Lowe of the 4th Judicial District has announced his resignation, effective October 11, 2024. Appointed to the bench in 1998, Lowe has also held several volunteer positions within the Nebraska County Judges Association.

The Nebraska State Bar Commission has received the Supreme Court’s approval of its recommendation for admission to the practice of law in the State of Nebraska for those having fulfilled all of the requirements under Rule § 3-117 for admission. A swearing-in ceremony took place on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the Rotunda of the Nebraska State Capitol. Francie C. Riedmann of Gretna has been appointed chief judge of the Nebraska Court of Appeals, effective September 13, 2024. She succeeds Judge Michael Pirtle, who has completed his term as chief judge.

LINCOLN -- According to Supreme Court Justice Lindsey Miller-Lerman, the Judicial Nominating Commission for Chief Justice of the Nebraska Supreme Court will hold a public hearing in the Supreme Court Courtroom in the State Capitol in Lincoln, Nebraska, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on October 4, 2024. Lisa Hunzeker, who previously worked at Southeast Community College and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, has been selected to serve as both the Pawnee and Johnson County court Clerk Magistrate in Pawnee City and Tecumseh, respectively. Her official work as Clerk Magistrate begins on July 15, 2024.
