A former nanny from Northeast Ohio is facing serious charges related to child exploitation. Molly Duncan, 25, of Beachwood, Ohio, has been charged with sexual exploitation of children and distribution of visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. These charges are pursuant to 18 U.S.C. 2251(a) and 18 U.S.C. 2252(a)(2).
The criminal complaint and affidavit allege that Duncan, while employed as a nanny, created sexual abuse materials involving toddler-aged victims in Northeast Ohio homes during 2024. Additionally, she is accused of distributing these materials in 2024 and 2025. Authorities seized several electronic devices from her residence containing child sexual abuse materials.
A conviction for sexual exploitation of children carries a mandatory minimum prison term of 15 years, possibly extending up to 30 years. If convicted of distributing explicit visual depictions, Duncan faces a mandatory minimum term of 5 years, with a maximum of 20 years.
This case is being handled by the Cleveland Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations, the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office. U.S. Attorneys Margaret Kane and Michelle M. Baeppler are prosecuting the case for the Northern District of Ohio.
Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to contact the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force at 216-698-3151.
As always, it is important to remember that a criminal complaint is merely an allegation. Duncan is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
