Candidates vie for judge role in Nebraska's fourth judicial district

Elizabeth A. Beninato, Grant A. Forsberg, Michael W. Jensen, Joseph J. Kehm, Ryan M. Lindberg, Patrick R. Runge, and Ryan J. Wiesen have applied for the position of District Court Judge in the 4th Judicial District of Nebraska, which includes Douglas County. The vacancy arose following the retirement of Judge W. Russell Bowie III.

The Judicial Nominating Commission will conduct a public hearing at the Douglas County Courthouse in Omaha on Thursday, February 27, 2025. The hearing will begin at 10:00 a.m. CST in Courtroom #316 where all applicants will be interviewed.

Members of the public are invited to express their opinions about any candidate by submitting additional written information or letters of recommendation to the commission before it selects qualified candidates for the vacancy. Submissions can be mailed to the commission chair or emailed to jackie.hladik@nejudicial.gov and will remain confidential.
