The Merrick/Hamilton County Problem-Solving Court is set to hold a graduation ceremony for its participants. The event will take place on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Merrick County Courthouse in Central City, Nebraska. Presiding over the ceremony will be Judge Rachel A. Daugherty.

This graduation marks a significant milestone for individuals who have completed an intensive program designed to address behavioral health treatment and community supervision while maintaining full accountability. These courts offer an alternative route through the criminal justice system specifically for nonviolent drug-related offenders by using a specialized team process within the existing court structure.

The problem-solving courts aim to reduce recidivism and substance use among individuals with substance use disorders. Their goal is to enhance public safety and increase the chances of successful rehabilitation for participants through various means such as validated risk assessments, early individualized treatment, frequent chemical testing, incentives, sanctions, and additional rehabilitative services.

For those seeking more information or interviews regarding this event, Morgan Campbell can be contacted at (402) 362-6540. Media credentials are preferred for attending journalists.

This event is categorized as an Adult Drug Court graduation. More details can be found on the Problem-Solving Court webpage: https://supremecourt.nebraska.gov/courts/problem-solving-courts
