Candidates announced for county court judge in Nebraska's Eleventh Judicial District

Garrett Goodwin of Lexington, along with Audrey A. Kingston and Kortnei N. Smith from North Platte, have applied for the position of County Court Judge in Nebraska's 11th Judicial District. This district includes several counties such as Arthur, Chase, Dawson, and others. The vacancy arises due to the retirement of Judge Edward D. Steenburg.

The Judicial Nominating Commission will hold a public hearing on June 3, 2025, at the Lincoln County Courthouse in North Platte to interview all candidates. Members of the public can express their views about any candidate during this hearing.

Additional written recommendations can be submitted to the commission before they select qualified candidates to fill the vacancy. These submissions should be sent either by mail or email to jackie.hladik@nejudicial.gov and will remain confidential.
