Judicial candidates named for Nebraska's 11th District court judge position

James C. Bocott from North Platte, Shane M. Cochran from Kearney, and Terry L. VanEaton from Lexington have applied for the position of District Court Judge in Nebraska's 11th Judicial District. This district includes Arthur, Chase, Dawson, Dundy, Frontier, Furnas, Gosper, Hayes, Hitchcock, Hooker, Keith, Lincoln, Logan, McPherson, Perkins, Red Willow, and Thomas counties. The vacancy arose following the resignation of Judge Matthew D. Neher.

The Judicial Nominating Commission will hold a public hearing at the Dawson County Courthouse in Lexington on June 2 at 1:00 p.m. CDT to interview all candidates for the judicial vacancy.

Members of the public can present their views on any candidate by submitting written information or letters of recommendation to the commission before it selects qualified candidates to fill the vacancy. Submissions should be sent to the commission chair or emailed to jackie.hladik@nejudicial.gov and will remain confidential.
