The U.S. Department of Education has established a new Title IX Special Investigations Team to address complaints of Title IX violations. This move is intended to uphold students' rights and ensure compliance with federal law, particularly concerning the placement of male students in female spaces.

This initiative is in line with the Liberty Justice Center's goal of protecting student privacy and safety. Recently, the Department's Office for Civil Rights initiated investigations into the Illinois Department of Education, Chicago Public Schools, and Deerfield Public Schools District 109 following a complaint from the Liberty Justice Center and the Defense of Freedom Institute. The complaint underscored instances where female students were required to share spaces with a biological male, compromising their safety and rights.

Jacob Huebert, President of the Liberty Justice Center, stated, "For years, far too many states and school districts have been violating their obligations under Title IX and the Constitution. We applaud the Department of Justice’s commitment to ending discrimination against women and girls and holding states and schools accountable, and we look forward to continuing to help them do that."

The Liberty Justice Center is pleased to have brought attention to these issues. The Department's actions and the establishment of the team highlight the necessity of educational institutions adhering to Title IX.

As the Special Investigations Team commences its operations, the Liberty Justice Center is prepared to aid its mission to ensure law compliance and student rights across the nation.
