America First Legal (AFL) has formally requested that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard initiate a declassification review and release the classified implementation memorandum associated with the Biden Administration's National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism. This memorandum accompanies a 20-page strategy released by the Biden Administration in June 2021, which outlined a comprehensive approach to countering domestic terrorism.
AFL claims it has uncovered the use of the term "domestic terrorism" by the Biden Administration to support a censorship agenda targeting its political and social opponents. Through its Deep State Diaries, AFL revealed the existence of a classified implementation plan characterized as detailed and with specified roles for different intelligence community elements.
The organization views this request as part of its broader mission to expose what it describes as the Biden Administration's misuse of intelligence services and law enforcement against specific groups, including political and social conservatives, military veterans, people of faith, and former President Trump.
AFL has previously uncovered such allegations and is urging DNI Gabbard to declassify the Biden Administration's surveillance and censorship strategy to restore trust in the federal government. AFL emphasizes that revealing the full scope of what they see as the Biden Administration’s misuse of national security authorities is necessary.
Andrew Block, Senior Counsel at America First Legal, expressed concern over the federal government's actions, stating, "During the Biden Administration we witnessed an unprecedented weaponization of the federal government’s resources against political opponents, including the admission of the existence of a classified implementation strategy of the Domestic Surveillance Strategy. We are asking DNI Gabbard and the Trump Administration to conduct a declassification review and release this critical information. The American people have a right to see the Biden Administration’s roadmap for silencing and punishing its political opposition."
