In response to a water event on April 18, 2025, at the 55 Railroad Way location in White River Junction, renovations have been underway. The site will be inaccessible starting Monday, April 21, 2025, until further notice. As a result, court filings, including Judicial Bureau actions and forms, will not be available at this location during the closure. These services remain available at the Windsor County Courthouse in Woodstock, Vermont. Furthermore, payments typically made at 55 Railroad Way should now be directed to the Windsor County Courthouse until further notice. Scheduled hearings in the Windsor Unit or Judicial Bureau will not be disrupted by this temporary closure. Updates on the reopening of 55 Railroad Way will be shared as they become available.
Previously, as of November 4, 2024, the Windsor Criminal and Family Courthouse and Judicial Bureau in White River Junction has been closed for 12 to 18 months for renovations. Criminal and family court activities have been relocated to the Windsor County Courthouse at 12 the Green in Woodstock, Vermont, with hearings for these divisions commencing there on November 5. Civil and probate hearings also continue at this location.
Hearing notices for all divisions within the Windsor Unit now specify if hearings are in-person, remote, or hybrid, with contact numbers 802-295-8865 or 802-457-2121 available for queries about hearings.
Judicial Bureau operations have moved to 55 Railroad Row, Suite 1, also in White River Junction, across from the now-closed Windsor Criminal and Family Courthouse. During renovations, Judicial Bureau hearings will proceed remotely. Probate Division staff are functioning from the same location.
All Windsor Unit court filings for the Criminal, Civil, Family, or Probate Divisions can be delivered to Windsor County Courthouse or the temporary space at 55 Railroad Row, Suite 1. Forms and payments can be processed at either location during business hours. However, Judicial Bureau filings need to be submitted specifically to 55 Railroad Row, Suite 1.
Both community understanding and cooperation during this period are appreciated.
