Pedro Cucul-Gualna, also known as Esduardo Cucul-Choc, was sentenced to six months in prison for the charge of unlawful reentry of a removed alien. This announcement was made by the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Cucul-Gualna, aged 25 and hailing from Guatemala, was investigated by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement - Enforcement and Removal Operations. According to investigators, Cucul-Gualna was found in the United States on October 26, 2024, after being previously deported and removed near El Paso, Texas, on May 23, 2019.
On December 12, 2024, Cucul-Gualna pleaded guilty to the charge. The Honorable John F. Heil, III, U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, oversaw the hearing. Cucul-Gualna remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service as he awaits transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his non-paroleable sentence.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacob R. Parker, representing the United States.
