A Browning attorney, Nathan Nicholas Johnson St. Goddard, appeared in court on charges related to sexual assault. The arraignment took place in the presence of U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme, where St. Goddard, 44, entered a plea of not guilty. He faces charges of aggravated sexual abuse, sexual abuse, abusive sexual contact, and making a false statement. If convicted on the most serious count, the penalties include life imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and a minimum of five years of supervised release.

The proceedings were overseen by Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris. St. Goddard was released under specified conditions pending further legal action.

The indictment describes events from June 22, 2024, asserting that St. Goddard engaged in non-consensual sexual acts with an individual referred to as Jane Doe, using force and threats. Additionally, it claims he provided false statements to the FBI.

The case is being prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office and was investigated by the FBI, Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services, and the Glacier County Sheriff’s Office.

It is important to note that the charges are allegations, and St. Goddard is considered innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
