Marc H. Silverman, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, reported the sentencing of Zaquawn Arrington, also known as "Dreads," a 25-year-old from New Haven. Arrington was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Victor A. Bolden to 14 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release. Arrington faced these penalties for distributing fentanyl and crack cocaine, while also violating the conditions of his supervised release from a prior federal conviction.

According to court records and statements, Arrington started a three-year term of supervised release in April 2022 after a federal crack cocaine distribution conviction. Between October and December 2022, he was involved in controlled fentanyl and crack cocaine sales alongside his associates.

Arrington's arrest took place on February 17, 2023. He pleaded guilty on March 20, 2024, to charges of possession with intent to distribute and distribution of controlled substances. Since January 2, 2025, Arrington has been detained after his bond was revoked.

The investigation was carried out by the FBI’s New Haven Safe Streets/Gang Task Force and the New Haven Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney John T. Pierpont, Jr. prosecuted the case.
