Matthew Carl Wilson and Candice Marie Logan, both residents of Hugo, Oklahoma, have pleaded guilty in connection with the interstate transportation of stolen goods. The plea involves one count related to transporting stolen industrial radio equipment valued at $5,000 or more from Oklahoma to Texas. This offense carries a potential maximum sentence of ten years in prison.
The allegations detailed in the indictment cited January 16, 2024, as the date when Wilson and Logan moved the stolen items between Hugo, Oklahoma, and Paris, Texas, fully aware of the unlawful nature and fraudulent acquisition of the goods.
Authorities, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Department, and the Paris, Texas Police Department, contributed to the investigation of the case.
Judge Jason A. Robertson, serving as a U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the guilty pleas. The judge has mandated the preparation of presentence investigation reports.
The sentences for Wilson and Logan will be decided by a U.S. District Court Judge who will consider factors from the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines along with other statutory factors.
In the interim, Wilson and Logan will remain under the custody of the United States Marshals Service as they await their sentencing.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jacob R. Parker was responsible for representing the United States in this case.
