Tony Scott, Jr., 28, has been sentenced to 12.5 years in prison after pleading guilty to kidnapping a woman in Mobile, Alabama, in December 2019. According to court documents, Scott forced the victim at gunpoint to drive him across state lines into Georgia, where she managed to escape. Law enforcement officials tracked Scott using a K-9 unit and captured him with a handgun in his possession.

In addition to his prison sentence, Scott is required to serve five years of supervised release following his incarceration.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama. The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation into the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kasee S. Heisterhagen prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.
