Attorney General Kwame Raoul has announced the sentencing of a Fayette County man to 15 years in prison following his guilty plea for possessing child sexual abuse material. This case is part of Raoul's ongoing collaboration with federal and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois to target individuals involved in downloading and trading such material online.
The convicted individual, Izacc A. Logue, aged 41 from St. Elmo, Illinois, was sentenced by Fayette County Circuit Court Judge Chad Miller. Logue pleaded guilty to five counts of possession of child pornography and one count of unlawful possession of cannabis over 5,000 grams.
Raoul emphasized the importance of accountability for those who exploit children: “Individuals who prey upon and exploit children must be held accountable for the trauma they have inflicted upon survivors and their families.” He also highlighted the role of partnerships with law enforcement agencies in investigating these crimes and securing justice for victims.
The investigation into Logue began in November 2023 when Raoul’s investigators, assisted by the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS), Vandalia Police Department, and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, searched his residence in St. Elmo and found evidence leading to his arrest.
The prosecution was a joint effort between Raoul’s office and Fayette County State’s Attorney Brenda Mathis. Mathis praised the efforts involved: “My office commends the hard work and diligence from law enforcement and prosecutors that went into seeing this case successfully finished and effectuating justice for the victims.” She acknowledged the investigative work done by both the Illinois Attorney General’s office and the Fayette County Sheriff’s office.
Assistant Attorney General Jenifer Peck prosecuted the case on behalf of Raoul’s High Tech Crimes Bureau.
