On March 4, 2025, the Supreme Court of Maryland conducted oral arguments at Montgomery College in Rockville. This event was part of the court's initiative to hold off-site sessions at educational institutions twice a year, aiming to enhance public understanding of its functions. Chief Justice Matthew J. Fader emphasized the importance of these sessions for educational purposes: “The Maryland Judiciary continues to advance our mission to provide fair, efficient, and effective justice for all by promoting public understanding of the Supreme Court of Maryland through off-site oral arguments.”

This marks the third consecutive year that the court has held such sessions outside Annapolis. Justice Steven B. Gould expressed gratitude towards Montgomery College for hosting the event: “It was a great honor to bring the Supreme Court of Maryland to Montgomery County.” The session attracted participation from 320 students across six local high schools.

Following the proceedings, students engaged with justices in a Q&A session discussing judicial procedures and career advice. Superintendent Thomas Taylor highlighted the significance of this experience: "Learning and experiencing how the Supreme Court works opens up the path to understanding how the law works in our country."

The court heard two cases during this session: Estefany Martinez v. Amazon.com Services LLC and Fred Cromartie v. State of Maryland. These off-site arguments are facilitated by an administrative order allowing temporary relocation from Annapolis.
