U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Christopher Rucker, 45, from Cheektowaga, NY, has been sentenced to 188 months in prison and will face lifetime supervised release. The sentencing was delivered by U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Caitlin M. Higgins explained that a search warrant executed by the New York State Police in March 2022 led to the seizure of a laptop and cell phone from Rucker's residence. Both devices contained images and videos of child pornography. Investigations revealed that between October 1 and December 28, 2021, Rucker downloaded approximately 1300 images of child pornography. These included depictions of prepubescent minors, violence against children, and the sexual abuse of an infant or toddler.

Rucker is classified as a Level 2 sex offender due to two previous convictions in 2002 for Sodomy in the 2nd Degree and Using an Interstate Facility to Persuade/Induce a Child to Engage in Sexual Activity.
