A Bonita Springs resident, Aaron Thomas Fister, has been sentenced to two years and six months in federal prison for interstate transmission of threats and stalking. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Thomas Barber after Fister entered a guilty plea on November 7, 2024.

Court documents reveal that Fister engaged in a prolonged campaign of threats and harassment targeting a former intimate partner and her sister. His actions included making hundreds of harassing phone calls, with dozens occurring in a single day and many during early-morning hours. Additionally, Fister left graphically threatening voicemails containing numerous threats to kill the victims and their family members. He also made a threat to kill and decapitate one victim’s infant daughter.

Fister's conduct extended beyond verbal threats. He engaged in physically threatening behavior such as slashing car tires, smashing headlights, hitting a family residence with paintballs, using a GPS tracking device to follow one victim, and nearly striking one victim with his car while she was pregnant. One of the victims eventually fled Florida, leaving behind family members and possessions to escape from Fister.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the investigation into this case. Assistant United States Attorney Benjamin S. Winter prosecuted it.
