A federal grand jury has indicted Daryl Vinson, a 65-year-old resident of Fresno, on charges of assault and abusive sexual contact involving a minor. Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith made the announcement regarding the three-count indictment.

Court documents reveal that the incident occurred on July 23, 2024, at the Veterans Affairs Central California Health Care System in Fresno. It is alleged that Vinson assaulted the minor by inappropriate touching and forced kissing. Notably, Vinson is not an employee at this facility.

Authorities urge anyone with information related to this case or those who believe they may be victims to submit tips online or call 1-800-488-8244.

The investigation was conducted by the Department of Veterans Affairs Police and Office of Inspector General. Assistant U.S. Attorney Arin C. Heinz is handling the prosecution.

If found guilty, Vinson could face up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine. However, sentencing would be determined by the court based on statutory factors and Federal Sentencing Guidelines. It is important to note that these charges are allegations, and Vinson remains presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
