A Billings man received a prison sentence for his role in a methamphetamine distribution network. Brice Judsen Bailey, 33, received a 94-month sentence followed by five years of supervised release, according to U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme. Bailey had previously pleaded guilty in December 2024 to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

The sentencing took place under U.S. District Judge Susan P. Watters' supervision. Court documents highlighted that between September 2023 and January 2024, Bailey was involved in a drug distribution network in Billings. This network was supplied by a drug trafficking organization based in Washington state, channeling substantial amounts of methamphetamine into the Billings area. Bailey was reported to be a significant source of supply, distributing between a quarter-pound and a half-pound of methamphetamine daily, and orchestrating controlled purchases amounting to over one pound of methamphetamine. He also traded firearms with a co-defendant in exchange for methamphetamine.

The investigation was handled by the DEA and prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The case falls under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program that collaborates with law enforcement at various levels and community organizations to tackle violent crime and gun violence. This initiative aims to enhance safety across neighborhoods. The Department of Justice's strategy, launched on May 26, 2021, emphasizes the principles of community trust and legitimacy, supporting preventive community-based organizations, setting strategic enforcement priorities, and assessing results. More information on PSN can be found at the Department of Justice website.
