Gregory Rehberg, a business owner from Norcross, Georgia, has admitted to wire fraud after being charged with defrauding the U.S. Postal Service through false invoices. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Richard S. Moultrie, Jr., who stated that Rehberg used deceptive practices to overcharge the Postal Service for maintenance work he did not perform.

“Rehberg concealed the use of subcontractors, made false statements, and provided false documents to overcharge the U.S. Postal Service for maintenance work he never performed,” said Moultrie. He emphasized the commitment of his office to prosecute individuals who exploit government contracts for personal gain.

Kenneth Cleevely, Executive Special Agent in Charge of the USPS Office of Inspector General (OIG), expressed satisfaction with the investigation's outcome and praised the collaboration with the United States Attorney’s Office in safeguarding Postal Service funds and program integrity. “Special Agents of the USPS OIG will continue to aggressively investigate those who would engage in fraudulent activities designed to defraud the Postal Service,” Cleevely added.

Court records reveal that GLR Group LLC., operated by Rehberg, was contracted by EMCOR Facilities Services, Inc. for repair and construction work at various U.S. Postal Service locations across several states including Georgia and Florida. Rehberg allegedly submitted nearly 900 fraudulent invoices between 2019 and 2024, marking up prices by as much as forty percent and resulting in overbilling of more than $730,000.

Rehberg is scheduled for sentencing on May 15, 2025 before Chief United States District Judge Timothy C. Batten, Sr.

The case is under investigation by the United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Natasha Cooper.
