A Pittsburgh resident has been sentenced to 70 months in federal prison for drug trafficking and firearms offenses. George Sotiris Vlastos, aged 38, received the sentence from United States District Judge Cathy Bissoon on May 8, 2025. The sentence includes three years of supervised release following his prison term.

The court heard that Vlastos obtained controlled substances such as LSD, MDMA, ketamine, and cocaine from an international vendor on the Darknet around May 2020. He distributed these drugs within Western Pennsylvania. Additionally, Vlastos was found with a firearm while being an unlawful user of controlled substances, violating federal law. In November 2023, he made false statements on a firearm application while out on bond for these offenses.

Assistant United States Attorney Kelly M. Locher represented the government in this case. Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti acknowledged the efforts of Homeland Security Investigations, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the Crafton Police Department in investigating and prosecuting Vlastos successfully.
