Chicago man sentenced for heroin and fentanyl distribution conspiracy

Clinton Williams, a 48-year-old resident of Chicago, Illinois, has been sentenced to 108 months in prison. The sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Gretchen S. Lund following Williams' guilty plea to charges of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute heroin and fentanyl. The announcement was made by United States Attorney Clifford D. Johnson.

In addition to the prison term, Williams will undergo four years of supervised release after completing his sentence.

Court documents revealed that between August 2021 and June 2022, Williams participated in a conspiracy involving the distribution of heroin mixed with fentanyl. His involvement included participation in five controlled buys of the substance.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation Gang Response Investigative Team conducted the investigation into this case. Prosecution was led by Assistant United States Attorney Michael J. Toth and Special Assistant United States Attorney Patrick D. Grindlay.
