Colorado courts announce Thanksgiving holiday closures for select dates

All state courts and probation offices in Colorado will be closed on Thursday, November 28, 2024, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Additionally, several judicial districts and offices will remain closed on Friday, November 29.

The closures include the Supreme Court Library and the Office of the Presiding Disciplinary Judge. Various judicial districts across Colorado, including those in Jefferson, Gilpin, Denver Probate Office, Huerfano, Las Animas, El Paso, Teller counties among others will also be affected.

In some areas like the 7th Judicial District (Delta to San Miguel counties), districtwide advisements will occur via Webex at 2:30 p.m. The 8th Judicial District (Jackson and Larimer counties) will close at noon on Friday.

Notably open on Friday are certain courts such as the Denver District Court and Juvenile Court within the 2nd Judicial District. The Colorado Court of Appeals and Colorado Supreme Court will also operate as usual.

Regular business hours for all court and probation offices are set to resume on Monday, December 2. For more detailed information regarding closures or self-help services available during this period, individuals can visit coloradojudicial.gov.
