Three finalists nominated for Mesa County court judgeship

The Twenty-first Judicial District Nominating Commission has selected three finalists for a Mesa County court judgeship. This vacancy was created by the appointment of the Hon. Craig P. Henderson to the 21st JD District Court bench, which took effect on June 17, 2024.

The nominees are Katherine A. Barnes from Fruita, Scott J. Burrill from Grand Junction, and JenniLynn E. Lawrence from Mancos. Their selection occurred during a meeting held on June 24, 2024, at the Mesa County Justice Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.

In accordance with the Colorado Constitution, Governor Jared Polis has until July 10, 2024, to appoint one of these candidates as the new county court judge for Mesa County.
