Jeff Lindsey has been appointed as the Acting District Attorney for Colorado's 11th Judicial District following the disbarment of Linda Stanley. Chief Judge Amanda Hunter issued the appointment order, and Lindsey was sworn in on November 1, 2024.

Linda Stanley was disbarred on September 27, 2024, after a disciplinary hearing in June. She appealed the decision to the Colorado Supreme Court (24SA263) and sought a stay on her disbarment from the Presiding Disciplinary Judge. The request for a stay was denied on October 18, 2024, with the effective date of her disbarment set no sooner than November 1, 2024. Without filing a review for this denial with the Colorado Supreme Court, an Order and Notice of Disbarment was finalized at 4:48 p.m. on November 1.

Jeff Lindsey previously served as Chief Deputy District Attorney in the 10th Judicial District since 2021 and is running unopposed for District Attorney in the upcoming election. With nearly three decades of legal experience, including his tenure as a prosecutor, Lindsey holds a B.A. from Colorado State University and a J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law.

The jurisdiction of Colorado's 11th Judicial District covers Chaffee, Custer, Fremont, and Park counties.
