Nance County Clerk Magistrate Shirley Stuart-Monroe has announced her retirement, effective December 31, 2024. Stuart-Monroe has spent over 17 years with the Judicial Branch, beginning as a Records Clerk and concluding her career as a Dual Clerk for both county and district courts in Nance County.
County Court Judge Stephen R.W. Twiss expressed appreciation for her service, stating, “Shirley has been a valuable and dedicated employee of the Nebraska Judicial Branch. Her service to the courts of the 5th District and to the public will be missed. I wish her a happy and healthy retirement.”
The judicial power in Nebraska is distributed among several courts including the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, district courts, and county courts. These courts operate under the Supreme Court's administrative direction.
