Lawyers in North Dakota are reminded to renew their licenses for 2025 by December 31, 2024. All attorney licenses must be renewed online through the designated link: https://northdakotacourtsystem.submittable.com/submit.

Licensed and eligible lawyers received an email on November 15 with instructions on how to renew their licenses online. Those who did not receive this notice or need more information on license renewal can find assistance through the provided link.

Pro hac vice attorneys are also reminded that, according to Admission to Practice Rule 3(A), they must pay $380 for the calendar year if they wish to continue appearing in state court actions in 2025. They can complete this process at the same online location.

It is important to note that all 2024 licenses to practice law in North Dakota will expire on December 31, regardless of when the fee was paid. According to N.D.C.C. § 27-11-01, practicing law without securing an annual license from the State Board of Law Examiners constitutes unauthorized practice of law, which is classified as a class A misdemeanor.
