The Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, Annette Kingsland Ziegler, has issued a statement recognizing the contributions of Justice David T. Prosser, Jr. to the state of Wisconsin. Justice Prosser's career spanned over four decades and included roles in all three branches of government.

Justice Prosser began his career as Outagamie County District Attorney and later served as a state legislator. His legislative work was notable for promoting sound policy in Wisconsin and contributing to the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws. He also served on the Wisconsin Tax Appeals Commission before his tenure on the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

As a justice, Prosser was known for his intellectual rigor and commitment to fairness, leaving a lasting impact on Wisconsin's legal system. His dedication to research and understanding of the rule of law were key aspects of his judicial philosophy.

Chief Justice Ziegler expressed confidence that Prosser's legacy will continue to inspire future public servants. Chief Justice Ziegler concluded her statement by expressing personal sentiments: "Many knew him as a Wisconsin Supreme Court justice... But to me, David was more than that: he was my friend. I will miss him greatly."
