Maryland students recognized for art in conflict resolution contest

On Tuesday, December 11, Maryland Court of Appeals Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera engaged with students from grades K-8 who took part in the Judiciary's 13th annual Conflict Resolution Day Art Contest. The event was held at the Judicial College Education and Conference Center in Annapolis.

Chief Judge Barbera presented awards to the young artists and interacted with the students, their families, and friends. During the reception, over 1,000 bookmarks were unveiled and displayed at the conference center throughout December.

The contest is sponsored by the Maryland Judiciary's Mediation and Conflict Resolution Office (MACRO). This year, it received 1,233 entries from students across Maryland. Among these entries, 13 bookmarks were selected as winners while another 14 received honorable mentions.
