A panel of three judges from the Minnesota Court of Appeals held oral arguments at Open World Learning Community in St. Paul on April 9, 2025. The session provided a firsthand look at the judicial process for the students present.

The panel, consisting of Judges Louise Dovre Bjorkman, Diane Bratvold, and JaPaul Harris, heard the case of "State of Minnesota vs. Khalid Isse Adam (Case A24-0731)." This initiative aimed to engage students with the workings of the judicial system.

Over 500 students attended the session, witnessing the legal proceedings and later engaging actively through a question-and-answer segment. In addition, around two dozen students contributed as guides, ambassadors, stage crew, and student media members, enhancing the educational experience.
