On December 11, Maryland Court of Appeals Chief Judge Mary Ellen Barbera will engage with students who participated in the Judiciary's 13th Annual Conflict Resolution Day Art Contest. The event, including an awards ceremony and reception, is scheduled at the Judicial College Education and Conference Center in Annapolis.
The media are invited to attend the reception starting at 4 p.m. During the event, Chief Judge Barbera will present awards to young artists and interact with the students and their families. This contest is organized by the Maryland Judiciary’s Mediation and Conflict Resolution Office (MACRO) and attracted 1,233 entries from students across Maryland. Among these entries, 13 bookmarks were selected as winners while 14 received honorable mentions.
The ceremony will feature Chief Judge Barbera meeting with students from grades K-8 along with their families. She will also deliver remarks before presenting awards to the winners.
