As of March 8, 2018, the Maryland Judiciary's Information Systems Division has updated its online court records database to include the names of police officers. This update follows an emergency meeting by the Maryland Court of Appeals on March 6, which resulted in an amendment to Maryland Rule 16-910.
The amendment aimed to restore previous language within the rule and was implemented earlier in the week. Due to extensive programming changes required for this update, court officials had initially estimated completion by week's end. However, the Information Systems Division completed the project a day ahead of schedule.
CaseSearch is an online system that provides public access to information from Maryland case records as outlined in the Maryland Rules on Access to Court Records (Rules 16-901 through 16-912). Introduced in January 2006, CaseSearch aims to fulfill common information requests typically received at court clerks' offices and includes detailed case information for all circuit and district courts across Maryland.
For those interested in accessing CaseSearch, it can be found at http://casesearch.courts.state.md.us/casesearch//inquiry-index.jsp.
