Honorable Jonathan Biran Justice | Maryland Judiciary Website

The Maryland Court of Appeals has decided to amend Maryland Rule 16-910, following a unanimous vote during an emergency meeting on March 6, 2018. This amendment will reinstate previous language in the rule, permitting the names of police officers to be displayed on CaseSearch.

During the meeting, testimony was presented by eight individuals, including members from the public, legal professionals, justice advocates, and journalists. The amendment is effective immediately; however, updating the online court records database will require considerable effort. It is anticipated that these updates will be completed by the end of business on Friday, March 9, 2018.

For those interested in obtaining a recording of the meeting, requests can be made to Bessie Decker at [email protected]. There is a $10 fee for each recording which must be collected in person.
