The Circuit Court for Baltimore City is set to honor participants from its Adult Drug Treatment Court program with a graduation ceremony on Friday, May 26. The event will mark the completion of the program for its participants, who will celebrate alongside friends and family.
Baltimore City Circuit Judges Sylvester B. Cox, Ellen M. Heller, and Thomas J. S. Waxter, Jr. are scheduled to preside over the ceremony. Baltimore Mayor Catherine E. Pugh will deliver the keynote address.
The Adult Drug Treatment Court in Baltimore combines judicial oversight with intensive treatment and supervision while providing vocational, educational, life skills training, and other services aimed at addressing issues contributing to substance abuse and criminal behavior. This initiative began in 1994 as Maryland's first drug treatment courts in Baltimore City District Court and Circuit Court and has since expanded to 54 programs statewide.
The graduation event is scheduled for Friday, May 26, 2017, at 8:45 a.m., taking place at Room 234 of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City located at 111 North Calvert Street in Baltimore.
