With temperatures dropping below freezing, the Circuit Court for Queen Anne's County in Centreville, Maryland, became the backdrop for a Fox Sports film crew on January 27. The team traveled from Los Angeles to capture footage of the oldest continuously operated courthouse in the United States for a short film honoring diversity, unity, and patriotism. The film will be set to Johnny Cash's poem "Ragged Old Flag" and will feature multiple historic U.S. wars.
Jennifer Pransky, Coordinating Producer at Fox Sports, remarked on the choice of location: “From the second we drove into town, I knew that we had chosen the perfect place to film. We felt very welcomed and the images we captured were beautiful.”
Judge Thomas Ross expressed his gratitude: “We enjoyed the excitement of having a film crew for the day and the attention of our community as they took an interest while passing by.” He thanked local officials and staff for their support during filming.
Clerk Scott MacGlashan shared his enthusiasm about featuring such a historic site: “The heritage of the Circuit Court for Queen Anne’s County dates back to 1791...I am thrilled our courthouse will be included in a piece that showcases the best in Americans.”
A behind-the-scenes segment is also planned for Fox Sports' website, including an interview with Judge Ross inside the courthouse.
The Maryland Judiciary acknowledged those involved: “We extend our very special thanks to Judge Ross, Clerk Scott MacGlashan...and the dedicated folks throughout the courthouse who represented...with pride and professionalism during filming.”
