The Supreme Court of California has released its oral argument calendar for 2025. The court will maintain its practice of holding sessions in various locations across the state, including San Francisco (in January, March, May, September, and November), Sacramento (in February), and Los Angeles (in April, June, and December). This tradition dates back to 1878.
In addition to regular sessions, the court will continue its annual special outreach session in October. These sessions provide high school students and their teachers with an opportunity to learn about the judicial process.
The court will also uphold its hybrid format for oral arguments, allowing counsel to appear either in person or remotely upon request.
The 2025 calendar further includes dates for the court's weekly petition conferences and official holidays.
