The Twenty-first Judicial District Nominating Commission has announced a vacancy in the Mesa County Court. The commission will convene on June 24, 2024, at the Mesa County Justice Center to interview and select nominees for the position of county judge. The appointment will be made by the governor.
This vacancy arises from the upcoming appointment of Judge Craig P. Henderson to the 21st Judicial District Court bench, effective June 17, 2024.
To qualify for this position, applicants must be registered electors of Mesa County at the time of investiture and must have been admitted to practice law in Colorado. The annual salary for this role is $184,704. Initially, a county judge serves a provisional term of two years; subsequent terms last four years if approved by voters.

They are also available online at courts.state.co.us/Careers/Judge.cfm. Completed applications must be emailed as specified in the instructions no later than 4:00 p.m. on June 17, 2024. Late submissions will not be considered.
Suggestions for candidates can be submitted via letter to any member of the nominating commission by 4:00 p.m. on June 10, 2024.
