A Port Arthur resident has been sentenced to federal prison for fentanyl distribution in the Eastern District of Texas. The announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Abe McGlothin, Jr.

Kailynn Ina Hardy, aged 25, admitted guilt to charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess fentanyl with intent to distribute. On May 13, 2025, she received a sentence of 57 months in federal prison from U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone.

Court records reveal that Hardy became the subject of a drug trafficking investigation in Jefferson County in August 2023. During this investigation, law enforcement officials obtained fentanyl-laced pills distributed by Hardy. She confessed her involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy involving at least 400 grams of fentanyl.

The case involved multiple agencies including the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration; Beaumont Police Department; Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office; Port Neches Police Department; FBI; Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives; and the Port Arthur Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jonathan C. Lee and Matt Quinn prosecuted the case.
