An Ohio resident, Christian Landry, was sentenced to a decade in prison on May 8, 2025, for his involvement in trafficking methamphetamine into Anchorage. The sentence marks the conclusion of a local drug conspiracy investigation that spanned from late 2022 to early 2023.

Court documents revealed that Landry, aged 32 and hailing from Shaker Heights, Ohio, made repeated trips to Alaska during this period with the intent to distribute methamphetamine. His activities came under scrutiny when an undercover officer initiated purchases from Elzie Isley, a known local dealer in Anchorage.

Isley was identified as having received over 20 pounds of meth trafficked by Landry from the Lower 48 states into Alaska. On February 9, 2023, law enforcement executed a search warrant at Landry's residence and seized several pounds of methamphetamine along with a loaded pistol and over $20,000 in cash.

Throughout the investigation into this drug trafficking conspiracy, authorities confiscated more than $34,000 and seized 23 firearms. U.S. Attorney Michael J. Heyman for the District of Alaska emphasized the impact of such operations on local communities: “This case is yet another example of a drug trafficking organization flooding Anchorage with dangerous narcotics from the Lower 48.” He further stated that his office would collaborate with law enforcement across Alaska to ensure severe penalties for those involved in these activities.

Jonathan Blais, Special Agent in Charge at ATF Seattle remarked on the combination of drugs and firearms being particularly detrimental: “Drugs and guns are always a losing combination,” he said. He noted that Mr. Landry's actions endangered Alaskans leading to significant consequences.

Other individuals involved in this case have also been sentenced:

- Elzie Isley pleaded guilty on December 14, 2023; sentenced to ten years on April 25, 2024.

- Antonio Wallace admitted guilt on October 18, 2023; received ten years' imprisonment on February 5, 2024.

- Jaron Steele admitted guilt and served time equivalent to his pre-sentencing detention (235 days) by May7 ,2024.
