A Mexican national has been sentenced for illegally reentering the United States after being deported. Francisco Torres-Ambrocio, 46, was apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol agents during a traffic stop. Court documents revealed that he had been removed from the U.S. twice in 2016 and was previously convicted of illegal entry in the same year. He also has a DUI conviction from 2009.

Judge DuBose sentenced Torres-Ambrocio to time served and imposed a one-year term of supervised release upon his future release. He had been detained since March 4, 2025. Following his prison release, he will be referred to immigration officials for deportation proceedings and is required to pay $100 in special assessments.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Sean P. Costello of the Southern District of Alabama. The United States Border Patrol conducted the investigation, while Assistant U.S. Attorney Jimmy L. Thomas prosecuted the case.

This case falls under Operation Take Back America, an initiative aimed at addressing illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and safeguarding communities from violent crime perpetrators.
