Attorney General Dave Sunday has issued a notice to Rite Aid customers regarding the impending deadlines for returns, gift cards, and rewards points. Following the company's bankruptcy filing, customers have until June 6 to redeem any gift cards or rewards. Returns and exchanges will be accepted only until June 4.
"I am encouraging Rite Aid customers to make returns and exchanges, and redeem gift cards and rewards points as soon as possible," Attorney General Sunday stated. "These deadlines are approaching fast, and accrued points and gift card balances will soon become valueless."
New Rite Aid, LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 5 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. The court order specifies that after June 6, gift cards will not be valid.
Returns must adhere to Rite Aid’s existing refund and exchange policy. Customers facing difficulties with redemption or returns can file a complaint with the Bureau of Consumer Protection online or call the Consumer Protection Hotline at 1-800-441-2555.
