Tony Rodriguez, a 40-year-old resident of Fairport, NY, has been arrested and charged with enticement and possession of child pornography. These charges carry potential penalties ranging from a minimum of 10 years to life imprisonment. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Melissa M. Marangola provided details from the criminal complaint. On March 12, 2025, an online community group leader contacted the Fairport Police Department about suspicious messages from a Facebook account named “Tony Rodrigo,” which was later identified as belonging to Rodriguez. He had allegedly communicated with someone he believed to be an 11-year-old girl named Emiry, engaging in conversations that quickly became sexual in nature. Rodriguez reportedly sent inappropriate images and proposed meeting for sex.

On the same day, Rodriguez went to the Fairport Library expecting to meet Emiry but was instead confronted by a community member who alerted the police after witnessing his explicit online exchanges. Before authorities arrived, Rodriguez left the scene.

A subsequent incident occurred on April 15, 2025, when the Monroe County Sheriff's Office responded to another report involving “Tony Rodrigo.” This time, he attempted to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old girl for sexual purposes at a location in Perinton. Upon arrival at this prearranged site, Rodriguez was confronted again and later detained by sheriff’s deputies.

Investigations revealed that Rodriguez used Roblox as an initial point of contact before moving conversations to Facebook with minors aged between 11 and 13 years old. Two cell phones seized from him contained approximately six images of child pornography.

Rodriguez also engaged with minors via Instagram and Reddit under similar pretenses. Following his arrest, he appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark W. Pedersen and remains detained.

The investigation involved efforts from several law enforcement agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation led by Special Agent-in-Charge Matthew Miraglia; Monroe County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff Todd Baxter; and Fairport Police Department headed by Chief Matthew Barnes.

It is important to note that charges are accusations only; Rodriguez is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
