Saul Macedo-Rodriguez, a 38-year-old resident of Texas, was sentenced on April 30, 2025, after pleading guilty to charges related to the distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. He received a sentence of 120 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release and a $200 mandatory special assessment fee.

Court documents reveal that Macedo-Rodriguez, along with other co-conspirators, was involved in distributing multi-kilogram quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin within the Eastern District of Louisiana.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation. OCDETF aims to identify and dismantle high-level drug traffickers and criminal organizations through a coordinated effort involving federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.

The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration's New Orleans Field Division Office. It received assistance from several agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Border Patrol, Gretna Major Crimes Task Force, Kenner Police Department, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, St. John’s Parish Sheriff’s Office, Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office, and New Orleans Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney Lynn E. Schiffman from the Narcotics Unit is handling the prosecution.
