A man from Queens Village, New York, entered a guilty plea for charges related to the distribution and possession of large quantities of illegal drugs. The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Alina Habba.

Donovan Elliot, 61, admitted guilt to possession with intent to distribute controlled substances before U.S. District Judge Claire C. Cecchi at the federal court in Newark.

The investigation by law enforcement, including U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents, revealed Elliot's involvement in selling substantial amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin mixed with fentanyl. A search of Elliot's home uncovered large quantities of methamphetamine, a firearm, and ammunition. The drugs involved in the case include over three kilograms of methamphetamine, almost 500 grams of heroin laced with fentanyl, and over 260 grams of fentanyl.

The charge Elliot pleaded guilty to has a potential maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine reaching $1 million. His sentencing is planned for September 16, 2025.

Special credit was given by U.S. Attorney Habba to the special agents of HSI Newark, led by Special Agent in Charge Ricky J. Patel.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Stern from the Opioid Abuse Prevention and Enforcement Unit in Newark is representing the government.

Defense counsel for Elliot is David Holman, Esq.
