A federal grand jury in Louisville, Kentucky, has indicted a local resident, Jordan Watkins, for alleged involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy. The indictment accuses Watkins of planning to distribute significant amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine. The charges stem from activities said to have occurred between September 2023 and March 2025 in Jefferson County, Kentucky.

U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett, along with FBI Acting Special Agent in Charge Olivia Olson, Louisville Metro Police Chief Paul Humphrey, and Jefferson County Sheriff John Aubrey, announced the indictment. Watkins, aged 34, faces a single count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute over 500 grams of methamphetamine, over 40 grams of fentanyl, and cocaine.

Following his indictment, Watkins made his initial court appearance on April 25, 2025, in the United States District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. His detention hearing is set for May 5, 2025. If found guilty, Watkins could face a minimum of 10 years to a maximum of life imprisonment. The determination of the sentence will be made by a federal district court judge, who will consider applicable guidelines and statutory factors.

The investigation is a collaborative effort between the FBI, the Louisville Metro Police Department, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank Dahl is overseeing the prosecution.

This indictment is part of 'Operation Take Back America,' a national initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and safeguarding communities from violent crime. This operation coordinates resources from the Department of Justice’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhoods.

It is important to note that an indictment is an allegation. All persons accused are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
