The Sarpy County Juvenile Drug Court will hold its graduation ceremony on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at the Sarpy County Courthouse in Papillion, Nebraska. Judge Jonathon Crosby will preside over the event.

This ceremony is significant for the graduates, as they have completed an intensive program focused on comprehensive behavioral health treatment, community supervision, and accountability. The program is part of the problem-solving courts, which offer an alternative path through the justice system for nonviolent, drug-related offenders. The aim is to reduce recidivism and substance use while enhancing public safety and supporting rehabilitation.

The problem-solving courts operate with a specialized team process within the court structure to provide individualized treatment and regular assessments. The approach includes early behavioral health treatment, random chemical testing, and a system of incentives and sanctions, among other services.

For those seeking more details or wishing to set up interviews, Heather Moran, Problem-Solving Court Coordinator, can be contacted at 402-593-2199. Additional information about the Juvenile Drug Court can be found on the Problem-Solving Court webpage.

The Nebraska judicial system includes various courts, such as the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, district courts, and county courts, all under the administrative direction of the Supreme Court. Additionally, the system comprises separate juvenile courts in certain counties and a statewide Workers’ Compensation Court.
