A Honduran resident has been sentenced in federal court after pleading guilty to illegally reentering the United States. Julian Alberto Rios-Andasol, aged 31, was sentenced to time served totaling approximately 31 days in prison and will be removed from the United States, Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced.
The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge W. Scott Hardy. Court documents revealed that Rios-Andasol was apprehended by the Moon Township Police Department for driving an unregistered vehicle and without a license, offenses to which he pleaded guilty. Following his arrest, immigration authorities confirmed his unauthorized presence in the country and arrested him on March 29, 2025, for illegal reentry. Rios-Andasol had been previously deported three times between 2013 and 2019 and lacked authorization to be in the U.S. Since his arrest, he remained in custody and has agreed to be removed from the U.S. as part of his plea and sentencing.
Assistant United States Attorney Rebecca L. Silinski represented the government in prosecuting this case. "Acting United States Attorney Rivetti commended U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Rios-Andasol."
The investigation and prosecution were carried out by the Pennsylvania Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) under Operation Take Back America, a federal initiative targeting cartels, illegal immigration, and violent crime. HSTFs, created by Executive Order 14159, are joint efforts led by the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security.
