A Jasper County man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking in the Eastern District of Texas. Acting U.S. Attorney Abe McGlothin, Jr. announced that Jeremy O’Quinn Brown, aged 34, received a 22-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. The sentence, equating to 264 months, was delivered by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone on April 17, 2025.
Court documents reveal that in October 2023, Jeremy Brown was identified as a key player in distributing large quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana in Newton County. Authorities executed a search warrant at Brown’s residence, uncovering methamphetamine, cocaine, $94,997 in U.S. currency, and two firearms. Brown was reportedly responsible for distributing 497.44 grams of pure methamphetamine.
The investigation into Brown’s activities was conducted by several agencies, including the FBI, Texas Department of Public Safety, Jasper Police Department, Newton County Sheriff’s Office, and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. The legal proceedings were handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Lee.
