A Guatemalan man has been sentenced to over 12 years in federal prison for his involvement in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy. Jose Eleazar Aceves-Garcia, 30, from Guatemala, pleaded guilty in November 2024 to conspiracy charges to distribute at least 500 grams of methamphetamine mixture and 50 grams of pure methamphetamine.

As part of the plea agreement, Aceves-Garcia acknowledged his role in distributing approximately 400 pounds of ice methamphetamine to an associate in Dubuque, Iowa, between January 2019 and January 2022. Evidence included his fingerprints on packages containing over seven pounds of ice methamphetamine that he sent to the associate in Dubuque. He further admitted to distributing a kilogram of heroin to the same associate.
